Experience and Training

Bea V. Larsen is a Senior Mediator at the Center For Resolution of Disputes and has mediated over 1,250 disputes, primarily divorces and post-divorce issues. Trained as an attorney at Salmon P. Chase College of Law (1969), in the 1980s and 1990s she studied mediation and negotiation at the Harvard Law School Project on Negotiation. Numerous other post-graduate institutes and training programs were also attended.

Civic involvement and Awards

Ms. Larsen was President of the Cincinnati Bar Association in 1986-87, and during that year initiated the project which culminated the establishment of the Center for Resolution of Disputes in 1988. Shortly thereafter, she served for a number of years on the Ohio Supreme Court Commission on Dispute Resolution.

In 1997 she was the co-founder of the Collaborative Law Center and since 1990 she served on the Jewish Hospital Board of Trustees. For a number of years she was a weekly commentator on WVXU FM.

Ms. Larsen has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards including the Ohio Women's Hall of Fame in 1988, the Cincinnati Bar Association Trustees Award in 1994, the Ohio State Bar Association Nettie Cronise Lutes Award in 1997, the Cincinnati Bar Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005, the Cincinnati Bar Association John P. Kiley Professionalism Award in 2007, and the Cincinnati Bar Association Themis Award in 2014. 

Employment History

Ms. Larsen began her legal career as an attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Cincinnati, was Associate Director of the Model Cities Law Office and Director of the Public Defender Division of the Legal Aid Society of Cincinnati from 1974 to 1979. Since 1980 Ms. Larsen has practiced law and mediated primarily in the domestic relations area.
